Student Ministry

Goal of 121

We want to reach students to reach the World.

Vision Statement

Produce reproducing disciples of Jesus Christ.

How?

Reach Teach, Send and Multiply

Reach – We want to reach students wherever they are. First and foremost we want all of our students to know the greatest message of the Bible, that God loves them and that they can have a relationship with Him.

Teach-We want to teach them how they can walk with God and show them how the Bible applies to all aspects of their life. Some things that we want to specifically teach them are how to read the Bible, pray, fellowship, and share their faith with others.

Send-We want to send them out to reach others and then teach others how to do what we have taught them. Jesus said in John 20:21, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” Wherever they go we want them to reach others and make disciples.

Multiply-The first command God gave Adam was to be fruitful and multiply. We want our students to multiply spiritually. Jesus reached the world through his 12 disciples. We want our students to eventually get to a point where they can disciple others who will disciple others.

121mission

Enjoy and glorify God by loving God, loving others, and making disciples of all nations.

Philosophy

We want our students to go as deep in their faith as they can so when they graduate high school they can walk with God and impact others wherever they go. How awesome would it be to see students leave High School who know what they believe and why they believe it? We want our youth group to be characterized by discipleship. Our end goal is to have our students look like Jesus. We want to partner with families, not replace them, as we see students grow in their faith. We also want to involve other volunteers (example of this can be college students) to disciple our students as well. It takes a Church to raise a disciple.

“Discipling others is the process by which a Christian with a life worth emulating commits himself for an extended period of time to a few individuals who have been won to Christ, the purpose being to aid and guide their growth to maturity and equip them to reproduce themselves in a third spiritual generation.” -From Discipleship, Allen Hadidian
